Acacia
vestita the Weeping Boree is a medium to tall spreading shrub
with grey-green pendulous foliage. In spring the Weeping Boree is covered with
masses of golden yellow flowers. Both foliage and flowers are features of this
hardy wattle. We have a number of specimens growing at Yallaroo. One plant is
at least ten years old. Acacia vestita is widely cultivated and
has proved to be hardy, fast growing and free flowering. Try the Weeping Boree
as a specimen shrub or as a component of shrubberies or hedgerows. Pruning
will improve foliage density and flowering. Acacia vestita occurs in
central NSW. Propagate from seed and possibly cuttings.
