Acacia
polybotrya is known as the Western Silver Wattle and develops
into a medium shrub. Its home is Central New South Wales and South-east
Queensland. The Western Silver Wattle is one of a relatively small number of
species with true leaves rather than phyllodes. This “ferny foliage” is
grey-green and provides an attractive contrast with bunches of bright yellow
spring flowers. This decorative shrub could be cultivated as a specimen plant
or incorporated into a shrubbery. Prune after flowering. Propagates readily
from seeds and possibly cuttings.
