Dichanthium
sericeum is one of many native grasses that call Yallaroo home.
This attractive perennial is also known as Queensland Bluegrass and occurs in
all mainland states. The flat leaves are bluish-green. Flowering occurs in
spring and summer. Two or three upright flower spikes are also bluish-green in
colour. This is a highly ornamental native grass especially during the
flowering period. Queensland Bluegrass would be an interesting addition to a
native cottage garden or rockery. We are going to plant a number of specimens
close together, which should form a decorative clump. We will provide more
information as our plants develop.
