Poorinda
Anticipation is said to be a hybrid between Grevillea
longifolia and Grevillea willisii. It is one of at least 50
registered Poorinda hybrids that appeared in Leo Hodge’s garden in Victoria.
The first Poorinda was produced in 1952 and the last in about 1968.
“Anticipation” is a medium spreading shrub with sharp pointed lobed leaves
and pink toothbrush flowers. The main flowering period is spring and summer
although some flowers may be produced at other times. “Anticipation” is a
useful plant for screening. Propagate from cuttings.
